Maybe sometime in the future this will be revisited with more family history or something to to make the characters more alive. After 14 books, I really did enjoy completely, I have faith this is a one off. I’m hoping the next in the series, “Rogue”, will be significantly better. It’s a decent book and I don’t regret the time but it’s not going into my “friends I want to revisit” folder. The connection to the characters just doesn’t happen in this one so I was disappointed. Before writing this review I listened to the audio twice and even read it on my kindle just to be sure I wasn’t missing something. In all previous books, there was enough information given about their history and family dynamics to understand why they do what they do or what makes them “tick”. A complete lack of any substantial back-story for the main characters other than they went to basic training together. Almost as if the author’s heart wasn’t really in it. Character development was great with full personalities and back-stories. Through each of those 14 books, I came away feeling like each and every character was a complete person and I knew them.
